Ralph Holmström Everything of importance
September 20 – October 11, 2025
Opening Saturday September 20 at 12-16
“For me, art is ultimately about constantly portraying a critical approach to our existential living conditions, and thus also to our ideas about what it means to be human. As a visual artist, I try to retain images – matte, but at the same time dense and fixed. Art captures time at the very moment it is lost. History freezes the river of time, but art melts it, and in its waters it quenches its unfathomable thirst.
Painting is in itself both an appeal and a way of asking questions of life without getting any answers. An expression, and at the same time an imprint of an absent presence – like an existential crypto-casino where it is important to find the lowest common denominator for life itself. If only in the dèja vu of dreams – in the prolonged moment when life is stretched out over the abyss of gravity. Everything is about the measurelessness of time and the weight of existence.”
